If you came here looking for a 3D Animation website, sorry, but ADROiT 3D, while still doing the odd animation job for the few clients who still want it, has all but disappeared. For the last few years our focus has changed quite dramatically to the wedding video market, and you can access that side of our business at www.adroitweddings.co.nz.
Ok, so that still leaves you with the question of what on earth THIS site is all about. My passions have recently ventured on a small time-warp back to my highschool geek years when I had quite a keen interest in the internet and website creation and development, etc. I guess I lost interest back then because the internet was still quite new and it's capabilities were very limited. Having had a background as a BBS Sysop I had quite a desire to develop a highly interactive website that ran much like a BBS with interactive games, chatrooms, forums, etc. The capabilities to do such things simply didn't exist at the time. In more recent years, however, the internet has come forward in leaps and bounds with the rise of new standards, languages and development tools to play with such as XHTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, XML, ActionScript, etc. Everything I once longed to be able to do with a website is now possible, and much much more!
I have spent the last couple of months reaquainting myself with HTML and the newer XHTML and have added a strong knowledge of CSS to my skillset. Now, with a growing desire to learn more and do more, I have begun my descent down the rabbit-hole into the world of PHP with the goal of creating wonderfully dynamic, interactive websites.
